Kentwell, Sports Day and Next Week!

Posted in Uncategorized on June 30, 2012 by Mr Davy

Hello everyone,

Just a quick note to say thank you to the entire class and their families for making yesterday’s visit to Kentwell Hall. It was such a fantastic day and the children were amazing. Their attitude, interest and communication with the Tudor folk was simply brilliant. Well done Year 4! I’ll collate the photos and upload onto the blog soon.

Remember that we have our sports day on Monday afternoon so kits should be brought into school. P.E will take place on Tuesday and Friday, with Forest School on Thursday.

Next week looks set to be a brilliant week of learning. This includes investigating mathematical problems including the popular Tudor game ‘Nim’. We’ll also continue to learn about the amazing transformation that sees a caterpillar metamorphosise into a butterfly! Miss Panayiotou will be leading a session to review our learning of Hinduism, including writing playscripts for a traditional Hindu story. Through learning about the Spanish Armada, we’ll be honing our descriptive writing skills to prepare a first person account for life on a Tudor warship. Prepare to be a thespian on Wednesday as we have the fantastic opportunity to work with the inspiring Jerome Thomas, where we shall be learning and acting out scenes from Shakespeare’s plays. This and more in what should be another wonderful week for Year 4!

See you on Monday!
